Mark Adcock is the third generation of the Adcock family to have worked in the practice. Whilst having had experience in most areas of private practice, his current specialism is Leasehold Reform work, where he acts for both landlords and tenants across the UK.  Mark has completed many substantial property transactions including projects in Leicester,  Lynton in Devon and London. Of this specialist area of work, Mark regularly deals with missing freehold cases and complex enfranchisement work.

Mark was awarded the Broderip and Easterbrook prizes in the Law Society’s final examinations for his results in the conveyancing law papers and is regarded as somewhat of a perfectionist in his work. “The job isn’t done until every detail is resolved!” he says.

Mark is presently working part time for the Law Commission, a statutory independent body which advises the Government on possible areas of the law, for reform.
The Law Commission is undertaking a complete review of the law relating to Leasehold Reform (amongst other things) and Mark has been asked to help with this task given, his extensive experience in this area. ‘I’m delighted to be working with the Law Commission on this. It’s an area of my work that I have a great interest in and I hope that the review leads eventually to changes to make the system fairer for all concerned’ Mark said.

Hedley joined the firm in February 2016 after a successful 10 year career at Birmingham City Centre firm, the Wilkes Partnership, where he trained and worked up to Senior Associate level. Hedley has joined as a Director of the firm, an appointment which secures the future and name of the firm for another generation. Hedley specialises in all aspects of commercial property law including disposal and acquisitions, asset management, leasing, and investment finance. He is respected for his no fuss approach to commercial property transactions and is known for ‘getting the job done’.

Frances has been working in the practice since 2007, following her creative degree and teaching positions at a leading city College. As the fourth generation of the Adcocks family to do so, Frances plays an active role in the development of the practice. Whilst following traditional methods of private practice, Frances, as the practice director, has also introduced more modern methods of working to ensure efficiency, transparency and fluidity in the work Adcocks undertake. She provides invaluable training and support to the team at Adcocks and prides herself in ensuring the practice maintains its well known high standards of client care.

Dario joined Adcocks in 2010 following a career in engineering.
Dario now manages all aspects of the accounts department at Adcocks with absolute precision. His role is to ensure all financial related matters are dealt with on a daily basis and works closely with both fee earners and the directors of the business, providing necessary accounting reports to ensure the smooth running of the practice.

Dario also ensures that all funds we receive from clients and third parties are dealt with accordingly, and swiftly.

He is continuing to develop new accounting skills with further study with ILFM (Institute of Legal Finance & Management) to ensure he is always up to date
with money matters!

Following successful completion of her degree in Sociology, Criminology and Criminal Justice, Kirstie joined the practice in 2014.

She now provides invaluable support to the Practice Manager and assists with all aspects of practice administration and accounts.

Her prior experience of working in an office environment has provided Kirstie with the perfect skills required to undertake her position at Adcocks. Kirstie is central to the smooth running of the practice. Her skills are transferrable enabling her to take on a variety of tasks with ease.

Nikki is our property investment portfolio manager. She is currently assigned to manage a number of property portfolios for our clients and has worked with the practice for a number of years. Her extensive knowledge in the management of ground rents, property maintenance and other residential property legal issues makes Nikki an invaluable member of our team.

Geoff qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1981 and was made a Fellow of the RICS in 2000. Since February 2009 he has been Adcocks in-house Surveyor and Valuer.

Geoff deals with all valuation aspects of the Leasehold Enfranchisement process from initial valuations for collective enfranchisement or leasehold extension, through negotiation of the premium with landlord or tenants advisors to preparation and submission to the First-tier Tribunal as an Expert Witness, in those very rare cases where a negotiated agreement just cannot be reached.

Emily has recently joined Adcocks as a consultant in our Leasehold Reform Department. Emily was admitted as a Solicitor in 2007 and has for the greater part of that period, practiced in this specialist area. We are delighted that she has joined our team of lawyers dealing exclusively with this type of work. She has, during her career, acted for a wide range of both landlords and tenants, helping with their transactional work and exercising or defending their statutory rights, and has a wide and extensive experience of right to manage cases in particular, a particularly difficult and technical area of our work. Emily is looking forward to supporting the practice team in this specialist area, for which Adcocks have become so well established.

Emily has a strong educational background having obtained a first class law degree and a distinction in the legal practice course. She has been recognised for her specialism a number of times over the years in the Enfranchisement and Right to Manage Awards run by News on the Block.

Emily is currently working part time for the Law Commission, an independent statutory body which advises the Government on possible areas of law, for reform. Emily is currently working on the Right to Manage project and has also played a pivotal role in the review of the law relating to Enfranchisement, which has recently led to the publication of an extensive public consultation paper.

Razina qualified as a solicitor in 2008 with an award-winning real estate team at Burges Salmon in Bristol. She gained a wide-ranging experience in all aspects of real estate acting for high profile clients such The Crown Estate, The London Development Agency Lloyds Bank and various international banks and off-shore trusts.
Razina’s experience includes negotiation of leases, advising on freehold and leasehold sale and purchase, property finance, insolvency, land option agreements, building developments and solar and wind farm developments.
She has dealt with the broadest spectrum of properties ranging from retail premises, shopping centres, industrial estates and agricultural land. Razina also has experience in acting for banks, investors and fund structures in the niche practice area of Islamic Finance. Her experience in this area has included the purchase of student accommodation buildings and financing of residential developments.
Razina is able to adapt her approach to transactions to reflect the distinct aims and concerns of her clients and she prides herself in providing a solution-based approach.
Razina has joined Adcocks in our Commercial Property department and is excited to help build our brand in this core area of work.

Jo qualified in 2017 following a number of years working as a Legal Executive specialising in commercial and residential property. She graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2005 and began working in property the following September. She completed her Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in Birmingham. Jo acts for individuals, companies, trustees and lenders in acquisitions, disposals and secured lending.

Verity completed her training contract at the practice and qualified in 2017. She currently works in our Leasehold Reform & Residential Conveyancing Departments. After successfully completing her law degree and Legal Practice Course, Verity joined the firm in July 2014 as a Property Paralegal when she started to gain invaluable experience with a vast range of Landlord & Tenant, and Conveyancing transactions. Verity is eager to develop her skills
and knowledge of these areas of property law.

Emily completed her training contract at the practice and qualified in October 2018. Having gained invaluable experience working as a Paralegal for the Practice since August 2015, Emily now undertakes a range of work in our Private Client and Residential Property Departments. Her skills extend to the preparation of lifetime documentation including Lasting Powers of Attorney and Wills to the administration of estates from start to finish.

She prides herself on being adaptable, approachable and always professional. Emily always goes the extra mile to satisfy our clients’ requirements, but nothing is ever too challenging for her. Emily is looking forward to developing her legal career further here at Adcocks.

Yvonne is a Probate Paralegal and is responsible for managing the Administration of Estates from start to finish. Yvonne has a great deal of interaction with the bereaved at a time that is often, for them, very emotional. She therefore approaches her role with the care and compassion that should be afforded at this difficult time. Daniel joined the practice in August 2018 and is providing invaluable support to our Leasehold Reform department in a paralegal capacity. Madeleine joined the practice in February 2018 during the final stages of her studies at Birmingham City University. Madeleine has now successfully completed the Post Graduate Diploma and Masters in Professional Law and is eager to progress with her career in the practice.
Madeleine’s adaptable nature enables her to conduct a range of paralegal work across the practice including the drafting of legal documents in our private client and residential property departments. She also holds responsibility for the day to day management of the documents we hold in storage for our clients.

Carolyn joined the practice in 2017 following an impressive 25 year career in property law. She has had experience of working in a variety of legal practices, including 13 years in and around Johannesburg, South Africa. Carolyn returned to work in the UK in 2001 and continues to build her knowledge and expertise of property law, and the specialist work that we do.

Carolyn has bought a wealth of knowledge to Adcocks and is now working closely with the Solicitors in the practice, providing them with support in all aspects of their work for clients. Her accuracy and attention to detail is abundant in all her work. Her passion for developing new and improved methods of working excites her, which helps the practice to provide the most efficient service to our clients.

Petya joined the practice in 2017 and is currently assisting on reception whilst undertaking an audit of the documents we are holding in storage for our clients. This includes reviewing our client database records to ensure that we stay in touch with you on a regular basis. She also manages the Deeds and Wills records, ensuring that when you need a document, we have it to hand.

Petya has a degree in German language, is multi-lingual in Bulgarian and Russian and finds this helpful in the multi-cultural society in which we work. Petya is enjoying the challenge of working in the legal environment following her career in childcare and is excited by the prospect of ensuring that we meet our client’s expectations in the services we provide, especially our document custody services.

Francesca has recently joined Adcocks to provide support for the fee earning team across the Practice. She graduated from Aberystwyth University in 2018 having achieved an upper second class Degree in Law with Criminology.

Francesca’s responsibilities include management of the day to day secretarial support services and other clerical duties supporting the firm’s fee earners. Her attention to detail and thoroughness is an essential quality in ensuring that we achieve the standard of our work for which we are respected.
