Linda is a Senior Associate and Head of our Enfranchisement and Leasehold Property Team, here at Adcocks.
She attended Oxford Brooks University and now specializes in property and land law, in particular, residential leasehold property. Throughout her career she has gained experience in a wide range of property law including residential and commercial conveyancing with particular emphasis on leasehold, drafting of easements, leases, wayleaves, partition agreements and lease extension deeds and all documents relevant to leasehold property.
Her work within the team sits within the non-contentious areas of residential leasehold and she specializes in the creation of new leases (individually and relevant to new leasehold developments), lease extensions both statutory and voluntary, collective enfranchisement and right to manage claims. She also deals with residential freehold acquisitions under the Leasehold Reform Act 1967. Linda has particular experience in relation to ground rent portfolio sales and purchases and plot sales. Deeds of Variations, Licences to Alter and Licences to Assign, also fall within her area of expertise. Linda has a wide range of experience in property law generally, including easements, transfers and advice on lease interpretation.
Amongst the achievements she is most proud of (apart from her three sons and mastery of water skiing) would include winning the annual award presented for achieving the highest marks in her Land Law and Conveyancing Practice examinations. The certificates are proudly displayed on the wall in her parent’s house.
Linda says “I am lucky enough to love my job and be part of the Adcocks Team”.
Personal Interests: Outside work, Linda is mum to three grown up boys with under 4 years between them. Linda will tell you she has no spare time – ever! But she makes time to attend the gym three or four times a week to enjoy a little me time. Linda and her family are proud supporters of Liverpool Football Club and spend most winter Saturdays driving to Anfield for the home matches. When not at Anfield she can be found standing on the touch lines of various football pitches supporting her boys. As a “go for it mum” she can be seen paintballing, off-road cycling and even water skiing (often under rather than on the water), and body boarding (again usually underwater). Linda’s family operates a rule of “Week is for Work” “Weekend is for Play” and it begins at 5.30 on Fridays. For peace and quiet she loves to read, the beach, long walks and peaceful meanderings along canals on a narrowboat. Linda enjoys cycling and hill walking and most importantly spending time with her family.
